This is a new page dedicated to our youngest team.
The under 7's are a non-competitive squad who are made up from last seasons Saturday Soccer club.
This squad trains on a Saturday morning at Forest Community Primary School here in Brandon,
starting at 10-30 for 1  hour.
The squad is trained by Mark O'Malley and Steve Bales, both Mark & Steve are FA Level 1 qualified, they joined us last season and both of them are enjoying their new coaching roles.
This squad will continue to train throughout the season and hopefully will be in top form for when they become a competitive league team at under 8's next season (2008-09)
This squad is open to players who are of school year 2.

We will add more details (news & photos) to this page when they become available.

Brandon Lads 5 Bressingham 0

Brandon U7's entertained Bressingham on a brisk windy day on a beautifully prepared mini soccer surface at the Brandon Leisure Centre. Brandon started off well and took an early lead when Lucas Kent slotted the ball home after a tantalising run through a series of the Bressingham defenders, this was only his second game and he is already showing confidence and promise up front and in midfield.
After some tenacious tackling Jake Vincent broke through Bressingham's defence to slide the ball home and make the score 2-0 with around 10 minutes gone. Before half time Jake added a third (with his left foot) and his second to move towards the break with a healthy lead and increased confidence ready for the second half. Jack Slater was tackling well and running around up front causing the opposition some real problems. Bressingham fought hard but with the windy conditions and some excellent work from Ben Long, Callum Horne and Alexander Turner they found it difficult to break into the Brandon half. They did half way through the second half but Will Bales in goal scooped up the ball with ease and cleared with a big left footed "hoof" up field. Lewis O'Malley came on in the second half and made some nice passes to his team mates and a few good tackles.
Callum Horne was awesome in defence and threatening going forward, in fact his long throw-ins really caused the Bressingham team problems this culminated in a superb volley into the top corner by Jake Vincent to make the score 4-0. Jake scored the fifth goal to round off Brandon's first well deserved win after 2 disappointments against Thetford Indies and St Edmunsbury Primary over the last few weeks.
(Man of the Match) - Ben Long - for his tenacious tackling and good clearances from the back - well done everyone!

Brandon Lads U7 2 Bury St Edmunds 8
Goals Jack Slater x 2

Brandon Lads (U7's) welcomed Bury St Edmunds for Brandon's first ever competitive match at Brandon Leisure Centre.
Brandon fell behind from the start by conceding 3 early goals, from here on it was going to be very difficult to recover.
Despite this Brandon played some absolutely superb "passing" football and outplayed the opposition for long periods of time but by half time they were 5-0 down - Time for a re-shuffle!
It was clear that Bury's tactics was to get the ball to their Ipswich Town (Elite) striker and let him run at goal and expose Brandon's goalkeeping inexperience.
At half time the defence and goalkeeping was tightened up with the introduction of Will Bales (Goalkeeper), Alexander Turner and Jake Vincent, Will made some incredible saves and showed absolutely no fear in some difficult situations, Alex tackled back well and Jake made some superb individual runs forward and in defence.
Brandon now looking tighter at the back and fighting for the ball hard, scored two superb team goals finished by Jack Slater, this gave the whole team a well deserved lift and continued strength to fight on.Based on the second half performance, lots of positives can be taken from this defeat and we now know categorically what we need to work on in training before next season! Callum Horne and Lewis O'Malley did well throughout the game with Ben Long unlucky to be marked by two burly defenders for most of the game.

5 a side tournament..... at Downham Market on June 2nd 2008

Brandon kicked off their first game with an excellent win against Ramsey "B".  Jake Vincent and Lucas Kent scored the goals to seal and excellent 2-0 win.

Brandon then took on Outwell Swifts and fought hard to come out victors with a 1-0 gritty win (Jake Vincent was the scorer). Brandon passed the ball well and Callum Horne and Jack Slater were superb in defence and getting the ball moving forward. Lucas Kent and Lewis O'Malley worked hard and Alexander Turner cleared and defended extremely well. Will Bales made some good saves and kept Brandon in the match towards the end.

In our third game Brandon took on Wootton "A" and thrashed them 5-0 with excellent goals from Callum Horne, Lewis O'Malley, Jake Vincent (2) and excellent corner from Lewis O'Malley that was deflected in off a Wootton defender. Winning this game put them through to the knock-out stages without conceding a goal. Again Lucas Kent, Alex Turner and Jack Slater were solid throughout with Will Bales mopping anything up that did get through!

In the Semi-final Brandon entertained Hungate Rovers and completely out played the opposition. Callum Horne was again outstanding in his new role just in front of the defence. He dictated the match and Brandon were victors 6-0. Goals came from Jake Vincent (2) Callum Horne (2) Lucas Kent and Jack Slater. This took them through to the final to meet Heacham Minors.

The final was a really tight game and it was obvious that a single goal was probably going to decide things. Unfortunately for Brandon a defensive error gave Heacham the chance to toe poke a goal and get their noses in front. Brandon fought hard to equalise but just ran out of time. Brandon played a superb tournament and although being slightly disappointed by not winning played some excellent aggressive football. The boys did our club proud and represented themselves in a professional positive manner - Well Done - Superb Result!
