Dereham Wanderers 5 Brandon Lads 1
A bright start from Brandon saw them take control of
this match early on, with
Pearson, Briston & Leach all going close, but
Dereham took the lead when Brandon failed to clear
and the ball trickled across the line. Some changes
at half time saw Brandon struggle to get their
positional play right and after a positive first
half, the boys did not make any progress on the
Dereham goal until the final few minutes when Kyle
Pearson scored from the penalty spot, that was a
little to late due to Dereham having scored four
themselves in the second half. It is now 6 games
without a win for Brandon and they are quickly
heading down the table instead of being up with the
front runners.

Brandon Lads 3 Bulldogs 3
A much better performance from the team this week,
but unfortunately they could not hold on to take all
3 points. Kyle Pearson put Brandon ahead with a fine
finish, but Bulldogs replied almost from the
re-start. But this week instead of heads dropping,
the lads put in some commitment and regained the
lead again through Pearson. Chances fell for Leech,
Briston & Smith but they could not convert them
into goals. Reece Goetsch did find the back of the
net to make the score 3 - 1 at half time. Bulldogs
put pressure on Brandon and got back into the game
just after kick-off and then continued to press. The
Brandon defenders had to work hard at the back, with
Nial Ridge putting in a man of the match performance
at right back. From a Brandon corner, Bulldogs broke
with pace and worked the ball from one end of the pitch
to the other, resulting in the equalising goal. A
point each for two hard working teams.

Brandon Lads 1 Thetford 3
Sadly another below par performance from the home
side saw them go down to three second half goals
from Thetford.
A bright start from both teams saw chances fall at
both ends, with Reece Goetsch & Bobby Smith
going close. A smart run and cool finish from Kyle
Pearson gave Brandon the lead, a lead they kept
throughout the first half.
Thetford came out the strongest in the second half
and put Brandon under a lot of pressure, unfortunately
a handful of Brandon players once again failed
to show any commitment and lacked the determination
in their play. This then leads to other players being
overstretched. A failure to clear the ball with
either their feet or their heads gave their
opponents the opportunity to score three times to
take home the points. Special mention for new
signing Elliot Scott, who did show his new teams
mates what commitment is all about. This is now four
league defeats on the trot and things need to change
to make this team a serious contender for top league
positions.

Brandon Lads 0 Harling 7
Brandon were put to the sword in the first half,
with Harling scoring on their first attack, then
adding six more before half time, it was such a one
sided half the Harling keeper never touched the
ball. The second half was much better for the home
side with the introduction of Bobby Smith, who
worked hard up front for little reward. and the
impressive Josh West who put in a great performance
at right back. This team look lost at times on the
pitch, they need to take their training attitude
with them to match days.

Dereham Wanderers Stripes 3 Brandon Lads 1
A lacklustre display from some of the Brandon
players who were always second to the ball, slow to
react and got caught in possession all to often. If
this team is to challenge for a top spot in their
league then some players must show more commitment
to their team and manager. Dereham took the lead
after some early sustained pressure with a series of
corners with a well headed goal. Brandon were quick
to reply and Kyle Pearson ran on to a good through
ball and finished well with a calm shot. This unfortunately
was almost Brandon's last effort on goal. Dereham
regained the lead when Brandon failed to clear their
lines. The second half was a midfield battle
with Dereham having the better of the play, Brandon
failed to make any headway and their final ball into
attacking areas did not work. Dereham scored their
third 3/4 of the way through the half and Brandon
had no reply. An excellent defensive performance
from Lewis Kent who worked tirelessly and with no
doubt kept the score line down.
Sunday 5 Oct 2008
Brandon Lads 0 Rocklands 8
Brandon welcomed early table toppers Rocklands and
knew that they would have to put in a good
performance to compete against this well organised
team. In very wet conditions things did not go to
plan and Rocklands strong midfield showed Brandon
how things should be done. Brandon were always
second to the ball, and lacked the commitment in the
match that they show in training. One plus point was
the hard working defensive four of Kent, Manning,
Hills & Miller.
Sunday 21 Sept 2008
Brandon Lads 8 Dereham Wanderers Reds 0
Played in lovely sunny conditions, Brandon started
well and created some early chances. When Dereham
threatened the Brandon defence held strong with Jack
Hills putting in a great performance. The Brandon
midfield of Greenacre, Pearson, Briston & Ridge
were passing well together and putting through some
great balls for the forwards. Brandon deserved the
victory with a hat trick from Reece Goetsch &
Kyle Pearson and two goals for the hard working Kier
Leach.
Sunday 14 Sept 2008
Scole 2 Brandon Lads 2
An evenly played match saw the points shared. Scole
took the lead midway through the first half, but
this was cancelled out when Kier Leach finished well
from inside the area. A brilliant individual run
from Kyle Pearson saw him take on the Scole
defenders and place the ball well into the net.
Brandon's lead was short lived when Scole equalised
direct from a well taken corner. Brandon had an
opportunity to take the lead when they won a
penalty, but the spot kick was missed. Scole were
denied a winner late on, after their winger scored,
only for the referee to bring play back and award
Scole a penalty, which was saved by keeper Vaccaro.
Sunday 7 Sept 2008
Brandon Lads 4 Lakenheath 3
Both teams played out a very close match in their
very first competitive 11 a side match. Some good
first performances from keeper Jacob Vaccaro
and
winger Zak Dean for Brandon. All the players took
their time to settle and to find their feet in some
new positions. Brandon's goal scorers were Reece
Goetsch x 2, Tommy Greenacre and Kyle Pearson.
