Sun 20 April 2008 South Norfolk League Plate Final
Brandon Lads 2 Cringleford 0
Brandon started the game looking nervous and it was Cringleford who started the better. Brandon found it hard to come to terms we the numbers Cringleford put into the midfield and when they did break Cringleford were cool at the back. Lewis Norton efforts in midfield seemed to clear Brandon's nerves and they soon started to play much better. It was end to end and both teams had good chances, for Brandon Harry Rampley and Jordan Kemp went close before Jacob Bogle nearly broke the deadlock when he hit the post. At the other end Brandon's defence controlled most attacks with the pace of Jack Slaughter and Isaac Allen. On the occasions they were beaten Jack Field was there to tidy up. The half finished level but there was the promise of good things for Brandon. The second half started well for Brandon with a great though ball from Jordan Kemp to Harry Rampley who scored neatly past the Cringleford keeper. Brandon never looked back from this point they had complete control of the game, Jordan Scott and in particular Charlie Power played neatly down the wings. Isaac Allen scored the crucial second from a corner which he headed into the net. Cringleford came back briefly and would have scored but for an amazing goal line clearance from Sean Hills. Brandon were put under pressure briefly but Adam Vincent and later Joseph Smith cleared the danger. Brandon had further chances, Jordan Kemp unlucky not to get on the score sheet and Sam Chapppell going close with a shot from distance. The game finished and an impressive second half performance gave Brandon the trophy.

Sun 13 April 2008 Semi Final League Plate Competition
Brandon Lads 12 Dereham Wanderers 0

This was a resounding victory which saw Brandon back to their very best.
They set their stall out from the outset putting Dereham under pressure and not allowing them out of their own half for long periods. Dereham  for their part defended well and didn't allow Brandon much space in the final third. Brandon got their first though Jordan Kemp after the impressive Jack Slaughters great though ball found him and his pace beat the Dereham defence and he scored well. Probably the biggest plus point for Brandon was that each time they scored the midfield and defence stayed focused and never allowed the opposition to get back into the game. The next two goals came via strong  midfield work firstly Harry Rampley great header and then Sean Hills great though ball, each time Jordan Kemp finished the move. Harry Rampley finished the scoring in the half with a long shot beating the Dereham keeper. The second half saw Dereham's head drop a little which allowed Brandon to take the game more easily than they expected. The midfield found space to pass the ball running Dereham ragged ,Sam Chappell and particularly Lewis Norton were strong in midfield. Jacob Bogle was impressive on the right combining well with the two strikers on numerous occasions. Sam Haire came on to score a great goal after Lewis Norton got his head on a corner from Harry Rampley. Sam Chappell scored a penalty after a hand ball. Jordan Kemp and Harry Rampley each finished with five goals, Jordan's run along the by line to set up Harry and then Harry's strike from outside the box which served away from the keeper football of the highest order.

Sun 9 March 2008 Brandon Lads 1 Wymondham 4

Brandon were under strength for this league game against Wymondham. Without six key players and starting with only 11 fit players Brandon were really up against it. Brandon began brightly though neither side could gain an advantage. Wymondham were dangerous on the break but Brandon worked tirelessly in midfield and were rewarded with the opening goal when Jordan Kemp created an opening for Harry Rampley to place the ball expertly home. Jack Field was playing well in the goal but was beaten by the advancing striker and Wymondham took the lead from a speculative shot which went in the top corner. Brandon had further chances in the half through Harry and Jordan but could not finish them. Brandon started the second half well still competing well and had their chances Jordan Kemp was a constant threat up front and Harry Rampley's early shot was saved well by the Wymondham keeper. Time started to take its toll in midfield and Wymondham started to get on top ,they scored a third goal with a quality finish when Brandon were down to ten men after Harry Rampley was injured. Wymondham got a fourth just before the end. The Brandon boys did themselves proud under very difficult circumstances.

Sun 2 March 2008 Watton 4 Brandon Lads 1

Brandon can feel quite unfortunate to find themselves on the losing side but until we start to compete from the first minute instead of waiting until we've conceded we will find it difficult to beat quality opposition. Brandon were put under early pressure and found themselves a goal down through a sharp finish. This sparked them into action and we had a open game. Chances were   created by both teams but it was Watton who extended their lead when a good run down the left finished with the Watton winger beating the Brandon keeper on his near post. Again Brandon  rallied and had much of the play Harry Rampley went close with a free kick and Jordan Kemp set up brilliantly when he left two Watton defender for dead. Much of the second half was played at  the same tempo both teams adding to a open and exciting game. Jacob Bogle was playing well on the left and caused many problems for Watton, Harry Rampley got Brandon back into the game with a brilliantly finished solo effort and had the wind not been so strong I feel sure Jordan Kemp would have equalised when his pace beat the Watton defence and he put the ball past the oncoming goalkeeper, it looked a brilliant finish but one of Wattons defenders just got back to clear off the line. Had that effort gone in we could have been looking at a different conclusion. Watton scored the killer goal late on and were flattered with a fourth from a penalty.

Sun 24 Feb 2008 Brandon Lads 9 Dereham Wanderers 0

Brandon were put under early pressure by Dereham but once weathered it was plain sailing.
Brandon got the first early on and then it was just a matter of how many they would get. Jack Slaughter provided the goal for Harry Rampley to score. The second came soon after, Sam Chappell and Jacob Bogle doing good work before Harry again finished despite the goalkeeper getting a hand to it. Jordan Kemp got the next two the best of which was a solo run though the centre. Jack Slaughter scored a quality goal late in the half to make it five at half time. Second half was much the same as the first, Brandon piling the pressure on Dereham and getting their rewards, Jordan and Harry both completed their hat tricks early on, Harrys goal a great finish from the edge of the box. Sean Hills was next to score finishing well after Adam Vincent's knock on from a corner. Brandon finished off the scoring when pressure on the Dereham defence force them to concede an own goal.

Sun 17 Feb 2008 Swaffham 4 Brandon Lads 6

Brandon began the game steadily and competed well. The early play produced no chances but Brandon had much of the possession. Swaffham scored the first goal against the run of play, Brandon having a couple of chances to clear up before the Swaffham striker finished. Brandon threatened after this point but failed to get themselves back on terms, it was Jordan Kemp who single handedly dragged Brandon back into the game when he ran the ball  from his own half, rode heavy challenges and finished well. Harry Rampley soon got Brandon fully on track when he found the corner of the net to make it 2 1 at half time
The second half began well for  Brandon ,numerous chance came but they could not capitalise. Swaffham were kept under control at the back by the defence, particularly impressive was Joseph Smith who never put a foot wrong. The midfield too playing well, Lewis Norton having a good game. It was the strikers who really made the difference,  when on song these two boys would give any side problems and against Swaffham they produced football of the highest level. Harry Rampley scored three second half goals and Jordan got one more to help Brandon into a quick 6 1 lead. Swaffham rallied at the end and pulled the lead back to 6 - 4 which took the edge off a resounding victory.

Sun 10 Feb 2008 Bulldogs 5 Brandon Lads 2

Brandon would need a good performance to overcome this clash with the league and trophy front runners.
They started well keeping the ball early on but Bulldogs came into the game strongly, winning the physical battle hands down. Bulldogs took the early lead , however it was a individual error that opened the way. Bulldogs continued to put Brandon under pressure and extended their lead again the defence failing to clear a through ball and Jack Field unlucky after a good save. Brandon were unlucky through Harry Rampley when his free kick went wide. Bulldogs scored two more before the half was over and fears were for a rout.
Brandon began strongly after the half and scored immediately through a great goal from Jordan Kemp, the passing between Harry Rampley and Sean Hills created the opening. Brandon rallied and were very unlucky when Jordan Kemp hit the crossbar. Bulldogs got the next Brandon failed to mark tight enough from a corner and when their forward headed home the contest seemed over. Brandon again pushed Bulldogs and again were unlucky, Kemp this time hitting the post. The second half gave Brandon heart, a good performance they finished off with another great goal, Sean Hills finished it off well but the pass from Jacob Bogle was real quality.

Sun 3 Feb 2008 Wymondham 1 Brandon Lads 2

Brandon displayed all their determination and character for this game, They never gave Wymondham an inch  throughout the game. Wymondham started with the wind and were the busier of the two teams without gaining any advantage. The Brandon defence were on top form and gave little away restricting Wymondham to only a couple of half chances, Adam Vincent's making one great saving tackle in the box when a goal looked certain .Brandon always looked dangerous going forward and created a couple of chances for the dangerous Harry Rampley and Jordan Kemp. Charlie Power played a great ball down the line for Harry Rampley to create more danger for Wymondham. Brandon eventually took the lead through a great Rampley finish after his pace left the defence for dead. Brandon could have got more but ended the half one up. Second half saw more of the same from Brandon, they put everything into the game and when Jordan Kemp broke free to score a great individual goal, Brandon seemed to have the game won. Brandon had more chances, Harry Rampley hit the crossbar with a fierce shot from outside the box. Wymondham got one back late on which made things uncomfortable in the closing moments but Brandon held on well for a deserved win. The performances of Jordan Kemp and Adam Vincent were exceptional, Adam being chosen as Man of the Match.

Sun 27 Jan 2008 Brandon Lads 2 Cringleford 1

Brandon started slowly and the game turned into a rather scrappy affair.
Cringleford are a hard working team and Brandon found it hard to break them down early on. Brandon failed to win enough challenges to allow their football to take over. Cringleford had an early chance which Jack Field saved brilliantly and when the ball fell to  a Cringleford striker Jack again saved well. At the other end the Cringleford keeper was also in outstanding form Jordan Kemp and Harry Rampley both denied goals through excellent saves. Brandon were the first to get the ball in the net but Norton was flagged offside when he looked to have timed his run well to score. Soon after Brandon played some of their finest football with Jordan Kemp finishing to move but note must be made of Harry Rampleys, Isaac Allens and Sean Hill contributions. Brandon looked strong now and finished the half off well Sam Chappell passing well in midfield and the defence looked solid.
Second half started well Brandon in control but Cringleford always looked dangerous on the break, again Jack Field made a good save. Jack Slaughter was switched into midfield in the second period and it was he that extended the lead with a brilliant finish from the edge of the box. Brandon finished the game under pressure, Cringleford having a real go. They halved the lead through a scrapping goal, Brandon failing to deal with a late corner. Brandon coming out winners despite being pushed all the way by Cringleford.

Sun 18 Nov 2007 Brandon Lads 6 Dereham Wanderers 0 (League trophy)

Brandon started slowly field an inexperienced side they found it difficult in a strong head wind, eventually they settled down and played really well, Jack Slaughter twice made great runs to set up good chances for the forwards, Harry Rampley and Jordan Kemp benefiting and scoring nice goals. Both goals were overshadowed by Harry Rampleys next goal, a brilliant strike from outside the box which gave the keeper no chance. Liam Osborne playing his first game looked impressive on the wing and was unlucky not to score when his shot hit the crossbar. Second half was the same story Brandon lapse on a couple of occasion but a combination of Jack Fields keeping, Adam Vincents pace and Jack Slaughter determination stopped them scoring. Harry Rampley completed his hat trick when he tapped in from a Jordan Kemp cross. Jordan went onto complete his hat trick after good passes from Harry Rampley, Jordan finishing the final goal particularly well

Sat 17 Nov 2007 Cringleford 1 Brandon Lads 2
Brandon started this rearranged league game against Cringleford brightly. They played good football but were unable to break down an organised defence on a compact pitch. The half was tight and Brandon had few chances Jordan Kemp and Harry Rampley found it difficult to find enough space to create any chances. Brandon eventually created a number of corners through sustained pressure, Adam Vincent flicked the ball onto Lewis Norton who finished well. Brandon were unlucky to lose Sean Hills through a nasty injury which interrupted the game for some time. Second half Cringleford started well, they played all the football and piled considerable pressure on Brandon. The defence held out well but consistently failed to clear far enough to relieve the pressure. Cringleford eventually equalised and deserved to do so. Brandon dragged themselves back into the game through some impressive play from Sam Haire and it was he who combined well with Harry Rampley to score Brandon's winner. More chances came after this Adam Kostecki going close but the game closed a narrow victory for Brandon.

Sun 11 Nov 2007 Swaffham 3 Brandon Lads 4 (League trophy)
Brandon started brightly making all the play early on. Harry Rampley and Jordan Kemp had early chances. Swaffham came into the game eventually and took the lead through a dubious penalty, this was converted well. Brandon equalised immediately through Rampley and a little later took a deserved lead through Jordan Kemp after a good pass from Sam Chappell. Most things were looking good for Brandon ,this was the most controlled performance this season ,all areas of the pitch saw boys playing well and working for the team. Sean Hills was having a lot of success down the left and caused problems for Swaffham. The defence was solid and but for bad luck with the penalty would have had a clean sheet at half time.
Second half began again with Brandon having all the pressure but again Swaffham were the ones to score first, Brandon failed to clear their lines and were punished with a good Swaffham finish. The next 10 mins were tight, neither side giving an inch, Swaffham battled well and Jack Field was on top form. Brandon weathered the storm and Rampley used his pace to get clear of the Swaffham defence and finished well. Harry completed his hat trick soon after to give Brandon breathing space, this was needed because Swaffham scored a good headed goal from a late corner. The final minutes were frantic but Brandon held on Issac Allen making great tackles to break up Swaffham's attacks.

Sun 4 Nov 2007 Brandon Lads 1 Watton 4 (league trophy)
Brandon were under strength for this important cup game.
Watton were able to exploit weaknesses in the first half ,they scored four goals unanswered by Brandon. To be fair they played some nice football going forward but left too many gaps at the back which Watton exploited to the full. The defence were left under pressure and any clearances were won by Watton's midfield.
Second half was much better, but Brandon lacking the belief they could come back created too few chances to give them a chance. Jack Field was outstanding in goal in the second half and Sam Haire played a great ball for Harry Rampley to score Brandon's only goal.

Sun 28 Oct 2007 New Buckenham 0 Brandon Lads 20
Brandon played in the cup against a inexperienced New Buckenham team.
Brandon were soon off the mark through Harry Rampley, who broke to score early on. It was one way traffic from there, Harry and Jordan Kemp doing most of the damage with Sam Chappell and Sam Haire getting one each in an impressive half time lead of 11.0.Few chances were missed ,the finishing was good but most impressive was the midfield play Sam Chappell had a good day along with Isaac Allen and Charlie Power who combined well with the full back Jordan Scott to produce some impressive play. On the right Joseph Smith was steady and the performance of Sam Haire was excellent.
Second half was again one way traffic ,New Buckenham had a bit more play and Jack Field was called upon to make a smart save. Adam Vincent and Jack Slaughter look steady at the back, both making good runs and unlucky not to score. Jack did get himself a goal along with two for Isaac Allen all the other scored by Harry who bagged 8 and Jordan who got seven.

Sun 14 Oct 2007 Brandon Lads 1 Bulldogs 5
Brandon set out with high hopes against Bulldogs on a fresh Sunday morning.
They started well playing some good football and having some early good chances through Jordan Kemp and Harry Rampley. The defence looked good snuffing out the early Bulldog attacks. Bulldogs came into the game gradually in the first half but when they did they looked increasingly impressive, their defence looked as good as anything Brandon have seen this season so far and they broke with pace. The Brandon defence must take heart from their performance but need to cut out the individual errors which cost them. It was 2.0 at half time which meant Brandon would need to dig in and pull out their best performance of the season, this never quite happened in the second half ,there were some good performances at the back particularly Adam Vincent who is just back from breaking his arm, but there were too many average performers from Brandon on a day which need everyone's best. The front players were always busy but against a talented Bulldogs defence were never able to create as much as they normally do, Harry Rampley scored a fine goal but this was only ever a consolation in a game that was won by the better team 5 - 1.

Sun 30 Sep 2007 Wymondham 6 Brandon Lads 5
Brandon lads went to Wymondham and started well, defensively solid especially the impressive Jordan Scott and Charlie Power. It was Brandon that took an early lead, Jordan Kemps shot being saved by the keeper only for Lewis Norton to score from the rebound. Brandon knew this would be a hard game ,the encounters with Wymondham always close and competitive. Wymondham scored the next two goals through good attacks and neat finishes. This was a tough game for both teams ,neither will to concede an advantage. The player of the day was Harry Rampley and it was he that equalised for Brandon when his pace and finish were too much for Wymondham.
Brandon are always at their weakest when they have scored and Wymondham took advantage to go ahead again just before the break.
Brandon were outstanding after half time ,they battled harder and were winning the midfield .They soon equalised again Rampley scoring powerfully. More goals could have come both ends, Brandon have some great chances and were really unlucky when Kemp and Rampley had good shots go close. Both teams traded goals again Rampley for Brandon with a brilliant free kit and it was he who looked as if he had won it late on when Jack Slaughter played a wonderful through pass.
With Brandon well into injury time and everyone looking at their watches in astonishment Wymondham won a corner ,they worked it well and scored a great equaliser, this was heartbreaking for Brandon but worse was to come .A ball which looked as if it had been cleared safely off the line by Jack Field was given as a goal by the referee, this was a bad way for Brandon to lose a game they dominated for large parts of this game and particularly the second half.

Sun 7 Oct 2007 New Buckenham 0 Brandon Lads 9
Brandon had a comfortable stroll against New Buckenham on a warm Sunday morning It could have been more with better finishing but the football was good and controlled. The defence were rarely stretched and the midfield had the space and time to fed the strikers, Sam Chappell particularly effective putting the two boys up front into good positions.
Sean Hills scored the first after Jordan Kemps shot was saved. Jordan Kemp and Harry Rampley help themselves to four and two goals respectively with Jacob Bogle and Sam Chappell completing the scoring.
Mom Harry Rampley.
Sun 23 Sep 2007 Brandon Lads 4 Watton 4
Brandon knew they would have a hard game from the start ,Watton were the quicker to get going ,they were more determined in the challenge and look more dangerous. Chances were few in the early stages Brandon couldn't break down a solid defence and found themselves on the back foot a number of times. Jack Field was called upon to leave his line and gather when the defence was caught flat. It was Watton who took a deserved lead ,a through ball caught the defence and the Watton striker score easily. This should have brought Brandon into action but they still were sloppy ,poor passing and a lack of commitment in the tackle lead to Watton's second. Brandon's backs were against the wall now and finally they began to play the way we have seen this season Sam Chappell was busier in midfield along with Isaac Allen and Kane Philpott. In a determined spell before half time Brandon managed to claw themselves back into the game Harry Rampley scoring twice the second after good work by Chappell, Rampley pushed the ball through and after a determined run he finished well.
Second half was very even both teams created chances .Rampley had another chance which went just over. Watton again broke quickly and took the lead again, this time a little hard on Brandon who were looking much better now.
The lead didn't last too long when Jordan Kemp got on the score sheet. This game was too tight to call both teams gave their all but it was Watton who looked to have won it late on. Brandon pressed for an equaliser, Chappell had a shot  cleared before Brandon won a free kick with only seconds to go, Isaac Allen took the kick ,it tested the keeper but never beat him, the ball came lose and Charlie Power headed the ball home for the equaliser.

Sun 16 Sep 2007 Dereham Wanderers 3 Brandon Lads 9
Brandon started slowly against a much improved Dereham team, they created little and found themselves under pressure from a speedy Dereham forward line. Jack Field was always quick off his line to clear the danger. Brandon scored first through Harry Rampley when he tried an early shot which the goalkeeper failed to hold. Dereham came back almost immediately when they were awarded a penalty which was converted well. Brandon came into their own for the rest of the half Rampley and Jordan Kemp sharing the goals, in contrast to the previous week few chances were wasted and the finishing was excellent, this was backed up by some outstanding midfield play from Brandon particularly Tyler Jones. Brandon finished the half 5 1 up. Second half was a similar pattern with Brandon setting the pace and putting Dereham under pressure. Dereham were still very dangerous on the break though Isaac Allen put in an outstanding performance on Dereham's most dangerous player as well as on a number of occasion breaking dangerously forward. Without really ever playing their best Brandon finished  up 9  3 winners Jordan Kemp hauling 5 goals and Harry Rampley getting four including the best goal of the game a delicate chip from outside the penalty area.
Mom Jack Field.
Sun 9 Sep 2007 Brandon Lads 6 Swaffham 4
Brandon started their first game of the season well, Jordan Kemp's and Harry Rampleys pace caused Swaffham plenty of problems. Brandon should have taken the lead on at least three occasions when Rampley and Kemp found themselves with goal scoring chances, unfortunately none were taken. Swaffham broke from a Brandon attack to open the scoring with a neatly taken goal. The goal gave Swaffham confidence and they put Brandon under pressure forcing a number of corners, Brandon were unable to deal with these and the pressure increased. Swaffham took a two goal lead soon after, not from one of these corner but from another lapse at the back, Swaffham's forwards beating Brandon's defence for pace and finishing past Jack Field in goal. The rest of the half belonged to Brandon, Sam Chappell was put on in midfield and Isaac Allen shored up the defence along side Jack Slaughter, Jordan Scott and Adam Kostecki. The balance of the team looked better Jacob Bogle and Charlie Power worked hard on the wings and Tyler Jones looked neat and effective on his debut. Kemp and Rampley pulled Brandon back into the game with good finishes.
Second half began with some untidy play by Brandon they gifted Swaffham a third when they failed to clear the ball on numerous occasions. This brought Brandon into actions and Kemp finished brilliantly after a great through ball by Rampley. The fourth goal a joy to watch Power, Jones and  Lewis Norton combined to set up Rampley who finished well. Brandon thought they had extended their lead soon after but what they claim was a debut goal for Jones was ruled out by the referee however they did extend the lead when Kemp completed his hat trick again set up for him by Rampley. Swaffham pulled one back soon after and again had a period of pressure, Sean Hills looked strong at the back and kept things tight .Brandon restored their two goal lead through the determination of Norton who made a strong run and finished well. Samuel Haire came on for the last few minutes and was unlucky not to score when he had a good run and just failed to get his shot off
Brandon have their first win but will need to be tighter at the back and have more cover in midfield if they want be successful this season.
