ISYL Open Cup 1st
Round
Brandon played Stow Town in
the Open Cup and progressed to the next round with a
hard fought victory. Brandon started the better of the
two teams and opened the scoring early on when Liam
Aspin scored a great goal from just outside the area.
Brandon continued to be in control and with Kieran
Burton and Ryan Harvey causing problems it was not long
when they increased the lead when Olly Farthing coolly finished
from close range. Stow came back into the game but with
Liam Wing and Jamie Newson solid at the back they
limited Stow to very few chances. In the second half
Brandon allowed Stow to get back into the game when they
scored a well taken goal. Brandon had Jack Clawson and
Jack Morley to thank for some good defending and
goalkeeping to get Brandon through to the next round.

Swaffham 2 Brandon lads 7
Brandon went to high flying Swaffham from the Norfolk
league in a friendly and put in a good display. Swaffham
started the stronger of the teams and scored early on
but Brandon never gave up and with Liam Aspin and Kieran
Burton dominating the midfield it was not long before
Brandon levelled when Ryan Harvey turned and scored from
close range . Brandon went in front when Liam Wing put
Ryan Harvey through who finished well from an acute
angle. Brandon were now in control of the game and Olly
Farthing scored at the far post after good work down the
wing from Jack Clawson. Swaffham pulled a goal back to
make it 3-2 but with Thomasz Ostrowski in good form in
goal they kept Swaffham out, Brandon went on to score 4
more goals, 2 from Liam Aspin and one more from Olly
Farthing and a well deserved goal from Jamie Newson.

Bury Town A 0 Brandon Lads 2
On a heavy pitch Brandon put in a good all round team
performance against a improved Bury team. Brandon played a
neat passing move to open the scoring when Kieran Burton
played in Ryan Harvey whose good far post cross found
Olly Farthing to finish well. After that Brandon
controlled much of the first half with Liam Aspin and
Kieran Burton controlling the midfield and Liam
Wing and Jamie Newson solid at the back it was only a
matter of time before they got a second which came from
a good run and finish from Olly Farthing. In the second
half Brandon brought on Jack Clawson who again played well
in a defensive roll and with Jack Morley having a
quiet day it was Brandon who kept
creating chances and Ellesse Masters had a great chance only
for the Bury Keeper to make a great save.

Brandon lads 11 Elmswell A 1
Brandon started the brightest of the two teams and
opened the scoring when Olly Farthing put Ryan Harvey
through to finish well. Brandon increased the lead from
a corner which Liam Aspin scored. This settled Brandon
down and with Liam Wing and Jamie Newson passing the
ball well out of the back Brandon scored again from
Callum Benham. Just before half time Olly Farthing got
the forth after good work from Kieran Burton and Ryan
Harvey got the fifth with a long range effort. In the
second half Brandon brought on Ellesse Masters who
worked hard to set up Olly farthing to score the sixth.
Then from a corner Callum Benham headed in well.
Elmswell got a well deserved goal back but this spurred Brandon on and they scored 4 more three from Olly
farthing to take his total to 5 and 1 from Ryan Harvey
to complete his hat trick.

Elmswell B 1 Brandon Lads 3
Brandon got back to winning ways today with a good team
performance at Elmswell. Brandon got forward early on
and scored when Olly Farthing headed in after good work
from Liam Aspin. With Brandon's midfield of Kieran
Burton, Jack Clawson and Ryan Harvey passing the ball
well Brandon kept creating chances but could not finish
them off. In the second half Brandon increased the lead
from a free kick from Ryan Harvey. Elmswell got a goal
back but with Jamie Newson and Liam Wing defending well
it kept Elmswell out and with Jack Morley pulling off
two fine saves it was Brandon who got the their third
and last goal when Olly Farthing and Ryan Harvey
combined well fro Ryan to finish well at the near post.

Moreton Hall A 5 Brandon Lads 5 aet
Moreton Hall A win 4 -3 on penalties
Brandon travelled to league champions Moreton Hall A in
the 1st round of the cup and got off to a great
start when Jamie Newson linked up well with Liam Aspin
to set up Ryan Harvey for the first goal. Moreton Hall
came back strongly and levelled the score with a
deflected shot that looped over the unlucky Jack Morley.
Moreton Hall A took the lead just before half time with
a well taken goal. In the second half Moreton Hall A
scored again to go 3-1 up but Brandon never gave up and
from a corner from Olly Farthing Ryan Harvey scored with
a great header. Brandon levelled the scores when from a
Moreton Hall corner Brandon broke with speed when Olly
Farthing fed Liam Aspin who beat his man and put a great
ball through to Ryan Harvey who hit an unstoppable shot
past the Moreton Hall A keeper. Moreton Hall went in
front again only for Brandon to score again from Ryan
Harvey after good work from Kieran Burton. That was the
end of the scoring in normal time so the teams had to go
again for 10minutes and it was Brandon who went in front
when Olly Farthing crossed for Ryan Harvey to score his
fifth but with time running out Moreton Hall A levelled
again to take the game to penalties which Moreton Hall A
won 4-3.This was a blow to the boys who gave their all.

Brandon Lads 1 Moreton Hall B 2
Brandon started the brighter of the two teams and went
in front when Liam Aspin set up Olly Farthing to neatly
side foot the ball home . Brandon sat back after that
and allowed Moreton Hall to get back in the game they leveled
the score when Brandon failed to clear the ball from a
free kick and they went 2-1 up with a neat finish after
Brandon failed to clear the ball again. The second half
started much the same as the first but Brandon could not
break down a strong Moreton Hall defence.

Brandon Lads 9 Bury Town A 1
Brandon started in determined fashion against a strong
looking Bury side and after some good work by Ryan
Harvey Brandon opened the scoring with an own goal.
After that Brandon took control of the game with the
solid defending of Liam Wing and Jamie Newson Brandon's
passing game took over and from some good work from
Kieran Burton who was solid all game Brandon increased
their lead from Ryan Harvey. Brandon kept the pressure
on Bury and were rewarded when Olly Farthing scored from
close range after good work from Liam Aspin. Before half
time Brandon scored two more goals 1 another own goal
and the other a great finish from Ryan Harvey. In the
second half Bury got a penalty and scored. With Jack
Morley pulling off some good saves Brandon took control
they scored two more goals from Liam Aspin and after
Jack Clawsons good run Ryan Harvey completed a fine 9-1
win

Brandon Lads 1 Woodbridge Town 7
Brandon came up against a very determined Woodbridge
side and found themselves 3-0 down early on. Things did
not get any better and with Woodbridge creating numerous
chances it was only a matter of time before they scored
again. In the second half Brandon did compete a bit more
and got their deserved goal from Ryan Harvey but after
that Woodbridge scored 4 more goals to win 7-1.
